Introduction
The mission and purpose for my blog is to gain a better understanding of a Community of Practice and how to become a better member of the communities I belong to. Communities of Practice can be described as groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. I would argue that teachers are a quintessential Community of Practice, especially in today's setting. We are actually have many layers to our Community of Practice. First would be the community of our school system, in my case, Fairfax County Public Schools. We are also broken down into regions but I'll leave that as part of the entire system. The next would be the communities where our schools are located, and then within the school we could boil it down to content and grade level (PLT's).
